Open Positions

The Department of Statistics has two active searches, one to fill a part-time lecturer position and the other to fill multiple open rank tenure-track faculty positions. Statistics: Lecturer

Position Overview

The Department of Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks applications for one temporary part-time Lecturer to teach undergraduate and/or graduate course(s).  Duties include but are not limited to: leading synchronous classes and/or creating pre-recorded videos; holding office hours; creating and grading assignments and submitting grades; may participate in course materials development, curriculum development, course coordination and may assign and oversee the work of teaching assistants.  Courses may be taught in person on the University’s Columbus campus and/or online. Successful applicants must reside in Ohio during their employment.

  • Create an engaging and inclusive environment for students in each class
  • Demonstrate commitment to student success
  • Work collaboratively with department faculty, students and staff
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Master’s degree in statistics or closely related field by the start of employment

Desired: PhD in statistics or closely related field; instructional experience at the collegiate level; strong written and oral English communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
