At present we have limited capacity for taking on new projects, but please feel free to submit your service request and we will be in touch.
In addition to working with Ohio State partners, the SCS provides statistical consulting services to local government institutions and private/public companies. Our consultative services are provided by Department of Statistics faculty and graduate students. Our faculty have expertise in all areas of statistics, including
- Analysis of Variance

- Causal inference
- Clinical trials
- Decision theory
- Experimental design
- Hierarchical/multilevel modeling
- Multivariate analysis
- Network analysis
- Observational studies
- Spatial statistics
- Statistical/machine learning
- Survival analysis
- Time-series analysis
- Quality control
At this point in time, we are unable to administer surveys and design databases.
If you are interested in working with a statistics faculty member, please complete our service request form. We will use the information you provide to attempt to match you with a statistician who can assist you and draw up a contract for the requested services.
If you have any questions, please contact the SCS Business Manager, Christine Bishop (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The SCS is an earnings unit and can bill clients for our services. All paid work is performed under contract and is billed at an hourly rate. The rates charged by the SCS vary according to the individual performing the work and the total size of the project.
The following are our rates for OSU faculty and staff:
- Co-Directors and Statistics Faculty (PhD-level): $250/hour - Non-Gov't entities
- Co-Directors and Statistics Faculty (PhD-level): $225/hour - Gov't entities
- Junior Consultant (MS-level): $125/hour
- Business Manager: $75/hour
For very large projects, the SCS offers discounted rates. In addition, it is possible to hire a statistics graduate student for an entire semester.
For expert witness work, time spent providing testimony (both in court or in a deposition) is charged at the above rates plus $100/hour.
