Careers

It is an exciting time to be a statistician! Statistician was ranked the fourth best job of 2015 by Business Insider. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, “Employment of statisticians is projected to grow 34 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations” as a result of more widespread use of statistical analysis in business, healthcare, policy decisions, and research and development in various industries. Career Services

Our students have access to career services and professional development opportunities hosted by a variety of offices from across the university. Throughout the year, a number of companies hold information sessions and host interviews for the students in our programs. The Department of Statistics also has a LinkedIn page where we post job opportunities for our students and alumni through our vast network.

Our students are also encouraged to take advantage of the multitude of resources available to all Ohio State students. From individual consultations through the Career Counseling and Support Services, to the online jobs and internships portal Buckeye Careers Network, events and activities hosted by the Grad/Prof Ohio Union Activities Board, the services through our Alumni Association and many other offices across campus, our students have a wealth of opportunities to help prepare them for life after graduation and for their future careers.
