Title

Wearable Computing and Clinical Brain Imaging

Speaker

Ciprian Crainiceanu, Johns Hopkins University

Abstract

The talk will focus on wearable computing (accelerometers, heart monitors) and structural brain imaging and will introduce three distinct scientific areas. The first part of the talk will focus on movement recognition, identification of circadian patterns of activity and quantification of their association with health outcomes. The second part will be dedicated to the association of stroke location and stroke severity using computed tomography (CT) brain imaging in a large clinical trial. The third part will focus on structural MRI (sMRI) and its application to longitudinal lesion segmentation, tracking and quantification in Multiple Sclerosis patients. Emphasis will be on the scientific problems and datasets.
