Title
NGS and Count Data: Challenges and Opportunities
Speaker
Greg Rempala, The Ohio State University College of Public Health
Abstract
Questions surrounding the data analysis in the next generation sequencing (NGS) bring out interesting new statistical challenges but also puts some classical statistical problems in new perspective. The lecture will give some examples of how analyzing diversity of human T-cell populations (which is of key interest in immunology) leads to interesting limit theorems for entropy functions and chi-square statistics in infinite-size contingency tables.
