Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Abstract

This informal discussion will trace how I became involved in teaching statistics. I will speak to my initial experiences in teaching statistics and how those events still frame my teaching today. I will then highlight some of my guiding thoughts in preparing class materials for all levels of teaching. Finally, I will speak to the current state of statistical education at the national level and the needs of the community.
