Title

Statistical properties of Riemann's Zeta Zeros

Speaker

Vladislav Kargin, University of Cambridge/MSRI

Abstract

Note: This seminar is primarily hosted by the Mathematics Department.

I will talk about statistical aspects of the zeros of Riemann’s zeta function, in particular, about fluctuations of the zeros around their predicted locations. These fluctuations form a random field that approaches a Gaussian field with an interesting correlation structure. I’ll outline the relation to the eigenvalues of random unitary matrices and discuss recent progress in this research area.
