Bill Notz Receives ASA Founders Award

Bill Notz

Bill Notz, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Statistics, has received the American Statistical Associations Founders Award.  The award was given for Bill's "outstanding section leadership, including serving as chair of the Physical and Engineering Sciences Section and Section on Statistical Education and as vice chair of the Council of Sections Governing Board; for outstanding publications leadership, including service as editor of Technometrics and the Journal of Statistics Education (JSE); and for leadership in statistics education as a member of the ASA/MAA Joint Committee on Undergraduate Statistics, as chair and as executive committee member of the Statistics Education Section, as editor of JSE, and for his financial support of the Best JSE Paper Award."

The Founders Award recognizes ASA members who have rendered distinguished service to the association. Typically, no more than two awards are granted annually.
