Data Analytics Student Peter Jacobs Honored by the National Science Foundation

Data analytics student Peter Jacobs was recently awarded Honorable Mention by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). The NSF GRFP is a competitive and prestigious program that "recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master's and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions." Applicants to the program submit a proposal describing an original research topic that they plan to pursue as a graduate student. As stated in the official program solicitation, "the NSF accords Honorable Mention to meritorious applicants who do not receive Fellowship awards. This is considered a significant national academic achievement."
After graduating from Ohio State with a major in data analytics in May, Peter plans to pursue interdisciplinary graduate studies involving both computer science and statistics.
