Dennis Baidoo, a first-year PhD student in Biostatistics, received the Norman Beery Memorial Scholarship from the American Statistical Association (ASA), recognized at the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Boston, held August 1–6. The scholarship, established by Susan Mayo in honor of her father, Norman Beery, a veteran and railroad worker, is awarded annually to a promising first-generation student pursuing studies in statistics, biostatistics, or a related field.
