First-Year PhD Biostatistics Student Receives Best Contributed Poster Award at JSM 2026

Dennis Baidoo, a first-year PhD student in Biostatistics, received third place in the Best Contributed Poster Award from the American Statistical Association (ASA) Biopharmaceutical Section at the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Boston, MA.

His award-winning poster, titled “Adaptive Weighting in TITE-CRM for Safer Phase I Dose-Finding Using Data-Driven Delay Estimation,” focuses on improving patient safety in Phase I clinical trials through adaptive statistical methods that account for delays in observing treatment-related toxicities. The award can be viewed here at https://community.amstat.org/biop/awards/pastwinners.

The Joint Statistical Meetings is one of the largest annual gatherings of statisticians and data scientists, bringing together researchers, academics, and industry professionals from around the world.

Congratulations to Dennis!
