Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Florence Nightingale Day Hosted on the OSU Campus

Florence Nightingale

The first annual Florence Nightingale Day will be hosted by the American Statistical Association (ASA) and Caucus for Women in Statistics (CWS) on October 27, 2018.  It will be celebrated at three locations across the country, and the event on the Ohio State University campus (Jennings Hall, Mathematical Biosciences Institute) is organized by CWS president and our own Professor of Statistics Shili Lin and CWS Executive Director Jessica Kohlschmidt.

This event is for girls in grades 8-12 to discover the opportunities for careers in statistics and data science, do activities with data, and develop connections.  For more information, see the webpage of Florence Nightingale Day at The Ohio State University.
