Joint Biostatistics Symposium Honorable Mention: Andrew Shan

Congratulations to Andrew Shan on receiving an honorable mention at the 2025 Joint Biostatistics Symposium. The Joint Biostatistics Symposium is an event where researchers, students and professionals are invited to a collaborative and enriching event focused on advancing biostatistics, data science and biomedical research. This year, there were 26 poster presentations, 21 of which were eligible for the award. Andrew Shan placed in the top 5 of these posters.
Andrew Shan is a PhD Biostatistics student. He completed his undergraduate studies here at the Ohio State University majoring in Business Administration before completing his master’s at Case Western Reserve University. Throughout his time at Case Western, he developed a strong interest in statistics and public health research. Today, Andrew’s research and contributions can be found in over 60 peer-reviewed articles and has been cited world-wide, including a proposed rule by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the American Heart Association, and the CDC’s Surgeon General’s report.
