Congratulations to PhD student Kiljae Lee, whose co‑first‑authored paper "Faithful Group Shapley Value" received an Honorable Mention for Best Paper at the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) DataWorld workshop, ranking among the top three out of 55 accepted submissions.

 

This work introduces a novel, model‑free method for fair dataset valuation with guardrail against adversarial attack.  The method is accelerated by original mathematical insights and applicable to black‑box models. This paper is a joint work with Ziqi Liu and Weijing Tang at CMU and our faculty member Yuan Zhang; Lee and Liu contributed equally.

 

Kiljae Lee is advised by Yuan Zhang.  His research focuses on conformal prediction and data valuation methods for AI.
