A manuscript co-authored by Laura Kubatko has been named one of 15 significant articles to be published in Theoretical Population Biology in a special issue dedicated to the journal's 50th anniversary. The contributions of each manuscript will be discussed in a series short summary articles, which characterize Kubatko's work as "a conceptual and theoretical advance that launched new approaches to phylogenetic networks."
