OSU AI Research Summit 2026 Synopsis

Statistics faculty and students enthusiastically participated in the inaugural OSU AI Research Summit held at the Blackwell hotel on March 3-4. The AI summit was co-hosted by OSU's newly launched AI^(x) Hub initiative and TDAI. The Summit featured Keynote addresses by Victor Bahl, who is the Chief Technology Officer of Azure for Operators at Microsoft, and Ray Perrault from the Artificial Intelligence  Center at Stanford University. The summit also included addresses by OSU's Vice President of Research Dr. John Horack and Senior Associate Vice Presidents of Research Dr. Steve Ringel and Dr. Loren Wold. The summit featured several external faculty and industry speakers, as well as OSU faculty members.
 
Statistics faculty members Dena Asta and Subhadeep Paul were members of the organizing team for the summit and organized the events in the AI and Data Science Foundations track. Statistics faculty member Yoonkyung Lee was invited as a panelist in a panel discussion, while faculty member Sagnik Nandy was an invited speaker in one of the sessions.
 
Several Statistics students presented posters at the summit, including Arkajyoti Bhattacharjee, Jae Ho Chang, Jiwon Hong, Kiljae Lee, Chenze Li, and Xiangni Peng.
