Dionne Swift, a former OSU Statistics PhD in 2000, is chairing the Committee on Minorities in Statistics (CoMiS). This committee seeks to foster participation in statistics by historically under-represented minorities. It focuses much of its effort on two key programs: the Diversity Mentoring Program, an early-career success program at the Joint Statistical Meetings; and StatFest, a one day conference for primarily undergraduate students. Another OSU alumna Brittney Bailey participated in StatFest 2018 at Amherst College last year.
