On August 2, 2026, the Department of Statistics co-hosted its annual mixer with Biostatistics. Held during the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Boston at Row 34 - Seaport, the mixer brought together current faculty, students, alumni, and friends of the department. The event provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to reconnect, build new professional relationships, and strengthen connections within the department's extended community. 

 

Faculty and students enjoyed engaging conversations with alumni working across academia, industry, and government, fostering networking and mentorship opportunities. Guests were also treated to complimentary food and drinks, over which meaningful discussions and camaraderie were shared. The mixer was a well-attended and successful celebration of the department's community.

 

Planning will soon be under way for next year's mixer, to be held in Chicago in 2027.
