Yoonji Kim wins CWS Do-Bui Travel Award for JSM

Statistics Ph.D. student Yoonji Kim has been selected to receive the Do-Bui Travel Award by the Caucus for Women in Statistics (CWS). The award will be presented at the CWS reception at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) and its purpose is "to recognize young statisticians who have made outstanding contributions to the mission of CWS and to the larger statistical community through research, teaching, consulting, and/or service, or to help promising students and early career researchers enhance their visibility in the scientific community and/or significantly advance their research agenda." Ms. Kim will use the funds to travel to the JSM this summer and present her original research with her advisors, Professors Oksana Chkrebtii and Sebastian Kurtek.
