Dr. Sagnik Nandy has joined the Department of Statistics as of August 15. Prior to this, he was a Kruskal Instructor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago. He completed his Ph.D. in Statistics at the University of Pennsylvania. Sagnik earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata.

His research interests lie at the intersection of high-dimensional statistics, graphical models, and nonparametric methods, with a particular focus on the integration, alignment, and visualization of multi-omic single-cell data. He also works in random matrix theory.
