Dr. Kai Tan has joined the Department of Statistics on August 15. Kai comes to us from the Department of Statistics at Stanford University, where he was a Stein Fellow. He earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from Rutgers University, where he was advised by Professor Pierre C. Bellec.
Kai’s research on Statistical Machine Learning addresses uncertainty quantification of iterative algorithms (e.g. estimating prediction risks and constructing confidence intervals for parameters of interest). You can find more information about his research and teaching at his website.
